Till the end of November, all my posts will start this way: I’m raising money for Alzheimer’s Research UK by knitting every day in November. It’s important to me because my dad has Alzheimer’s. If you feel so moved, you can donate here.

Yesterday I made 22 rows, each with 66 stitches. That’s 1518 stitches! I’ve done that sum six times because it seems impossible that so many stitches have gone into just under two inches of knitting.

Marker shows starting point for yesterday

I’m using two balls of sock yarn from Luca-S. Remember when I couldn’t resist buying more of their yarn after using it to make my first socks ? It turns out I could resist actually *using* it, so it was sitting there in stash.

They’re variegated yarns, one in black, white and grey, and the other in greens, with a bit of yellow, navy, and more black and white. I’m alternating yarns every row, and I really like how the fabric is coming out – stripey, and unpredictable!

I do so love a good marl, and these absolutely are a very good marl! (isn’t it insane when you consider how many stitches there are in small circumference knits???)

I can’t get over the number of stitches, I guess I’ve never thought about it properly before!

That first pair of socks were quite lovely. I can see how that colorway would hook you.
