I’ve named this post for two reasons:
- This scarf was made as a palate cleanser, after my WiPs left a bad taste in my mouth (or in my brain?)
- The orange yarn reminded me of Irn Bru sorbet. If you don’t know what Irn Bru is… well, now’s not the time to sermonise on its wonder. It’s a bright orange fizzy drink.

Made exactly the same as last year’s batch of bias scarves, this used up odds and ends of yarn and will be donated. It’s DK held double, and on 6.5mm needles. Cast on 30 and away we go.
I feel a bit conflicted, in that I wouldn’t have put these colours together for myself – but it’s certainly soft and will keep someone warm.

I’m going to donate some other yarn from stash, which takes me down to a mere 1.6kg!
Except that’s an outright lie because not only did I buy yarn for the Black Cat Sweater, I also made some lovely purchases when I was visiting Bristol last month. Blog post to come!
But it does mean there’s much less yarn in my stash without a known purpose. Which is a great improvement on where I was two years ago, with 10kg of yarn and no real idea what to do with it all. Well done me.
