Prelude | Part One

I have finished the sleeves on my third Promenade, which always feels like such a milestone.

Does this look either biblical or surreal to anyone else? Like it’s floating in front of a sunset? No?

I have 22g of lace and 108g of DK left, meaning I’ve used three quarters of the lace already. So I’ll keep knitting till it’s done, then make an assessment about whether I want to order more (and have lots left over) or… maybe having a long section in just black would look fine? A long bit of ribbing? We’ll see how far it goes and make a decision then.

How the seams look right now

I also have a loooot of ends to sew in. I decided I wanted to break the yarns this time round for a more polished finish but slightly regret that choice. I tried to make a start today and just… couldn’t. Maybe tomorrow!

This is the Promenade blouse (Ravelry link) pattern by Caidree (Designerโ€™s site).

I’ve added this post to the Unraveled Wednesday linkup, with thanks to Kat for hosting.

The departure from Sleeve Island is always such a good thing! I will channel all the End Weaving In Mojo I can muster and send it all your way for when you do tackle that task! The sweater is looking fantastic!

Thank you Kat! I just couldn’t face it yesterday, not even for the sake of a blog post ๐Ÿ˜‚

Another interesting pattern. I have some lace weight yarn languishing in my stash. Maybe this is the pattern for it?

I highly recommend it! It’s not difficult at all, but switching yarns/needles keeps it interesting.

I think a long bottom of solid black will look great with the stripes. Did you do a folded collar? I think I may do that on my next one.

I struggle with finishing sleeves so much, so I love how this has you knitting them at the beginning! Love how this looks!

The pattern doesn’t call for it but I like to do it this way. Get ’em done then it’s a breeze to the finish line!

Hoorah on the milestone! Get yourself a treat when you’re done with the ends. (Speaking from my current mindspace of finding ways to get me going, lol…)
