I’ve started another Promenade blouse (Ravelry link) pattern by Caidree (Designer’s site). You may have seen my post about unraveling an existing jumper to reclaim the yarn, and I bought a skein of Malabrigo lace to go with it.
The weight of the lace is less than what I needed to make my last Promenade, but the yardage is longer… I really thought that would be fine but I’m halfway through the yarn without being halfway through the jumper, so possibly not. Luckily, Malabrigo isn’t difficult to get if I need to. Honestly, after all this time knitting, you’d think I’d understand this stuff.

I love how the stripes look and am already excited to wear it. I’m following the medium size patten again with one exception: I’ve taken out one stripe before splitting for the sleeves. I think my existing Promenade is a bit roomy in the bust (NOT a problem I often have), so I’m hoping this will finesse the fit.
I used a try-on cable for the first time, to check that fit. I had no faith that it would stay on the needles but au contraire, in fact it was hard to get back off again! Worked exactly as intended.

I’m almost through with the first sleeve, just needs a nice long cuff. I had a little bit of unraveling to do when I discovered a mega, nine-row stripe. They’re supposed to be six. I obviously got on a roll.
I’m learning from last time and making the sleeves a little shorter than I think they need to be, because there’s so much blocking potential.

It’s a great project to work on, and with this being the third time it’s going very quickly. At time of writing, I’m about to take it on a long train journey, so I hope I can work on it then and keep up the momentum!
