Years ago, I made a version of Morticia (Ravelry link) by Andi Satterlund (Designer’s site).
I didn’t do it justice on a number of levels, most predominantly by picking up stitches poorly round the neckline, and creating my own crochet shoulders and ad hoc lace sleeves.

The end result was a garment that I wore once. The poufy shoulders and ribbon I’d threaded through to hide those picked up stitches just weren’t my style. Plus the neckline didn’t sit right – looks like not enough decreases, or decreases in the wrong places, or something. So it went in a box.

But now I’m unraveling to reclaim the yarn. After several hours of work, I’m getting there – much of that time was spent trying to figure out how I’d made the sleeves. Turns out they were knit flat then seamed before being erratically lashed on to the shoulders.
I’ve been more liberal than usual with the scissors (read: more impatient with the process) so have more, smaller balls of yarn to use. However, my intent is to make a third Promenade, which may well include cutting yarn between stripes, so I’m not too bothered about that.

I have a skein of Malabrigo lace on the way to pair up with the plain black, and I’m excited to get to the knitting part!
I’ve added this post to the Unraveled Wednesday linkup, with thanks to Kat for hosting
