By request from someone who traded me a LOT of beads and semi-precious stones (and who I already liked anyway)… It’s nearly time to start another Doctor Who scarf.

The usual deliberation over colours is complete, and I’m using a couple from stash. They’re all the same brand this time, so while I still don’t think the colours are perfect (especially the khaki) at least they’ll all be the exact same weight and give a nice even finish, no wibbly wobbly lines.

Ready…steady…cast on!! I’d say this will be a big project, but you knit so quickly, you’ll be done in a blink ๐Ÿ˜€. Sounds like good fun!

Ha! Last time I made one I timed it at 24 hours of knitting. I have two other projects on the go and another to try and figure out (that blasted mysterious stitch!) so the scarf is on pause until one or more of those is complete. But sometimes the urge to buy yarn is just too strong to deny.

Oh that’s pretty good! 24 hours is less than I thought…but then again my imagination likes to exaggerate things and probably made the scarf WAY longer than it is.
Oooh that stitch! I’m still hunting down that stitch. The closest I’ve found is not close enough, sadly, so I’m still hunting.
Must… buy… yarn. I know that urge too well. I’m currently swatting at the little devil on my shoulder telling me to go ahead and place an order.

It’s a big old scarf, but a lot of the length does come from stretching it out. And I am quite quick too ๐Ÿ˜

I’m getting close with a combo of cables, k2tog and p2tog, yo and slipping stitches… it’s in time out for a few days though!

Ah, the wonder of blocking and speed! ๐Ÿ˜†

Hey, excellent!! I’m glad you’re getting close. It definitely deserves a time out for being so elusive.

Oh my goodness I made my Dad a Dr. Who scarf in the 1980s when Tom Baker was Dr. Who!

I’d have thought one would *want* wibbly wobbly lines in a Doctor Who scarf! :-) The colors look just great!

๐Ÿ˜ Glad someone caught the reference!

It does add charm but on the other hand it’s not screen accurate – the original is worn out and stretched, but pretty even along the edges. And this is the kind of thing I spend time considering…

Oh I do agree accuracy is a definite must for perfect recreations; small considerations lead to big improvements! Enjoy the knitting!
