I’m making progress more quickly than I thought I would! I did have a false start with the lace, and had to undo the first ten rows, but I think I’ve got the hang of it now.
The Country Classic isn’t as soft as I’d hoped, though a soak can make a big difference to that. It is nice and squishy though. While I do want to block the lace out, I want to try and be a little less heavy handed than I usually am. Generally I go in with the steamer blazing, but I want to keep that squish in the striped sections, to contrast with the flatter lace. We will see how capable I am of achieving that… and also how much length I can get. Looking at it now, it seems like it’ll be quite short?

I’ve used 30g each of teal and mint in the first stripe section. The second stripe section is about twice as long, so I’ll need 60g of each colour, with 10g left over. Or… I can just do an extra six sets of stripes and use it up, which is what I’m leaning towards.
Likewise, I’m using just under 6g per ten-row lace repeat, and calculate I’ll have enough for three extra repeats. So I’m going to do two extra in this first section, and one extra in the second, smaller section.

I’m enjoying the square shapes in the lace and look forward to seeing them bloom!
