Part One

We are making progress! It is, technically, off the needles – but those cuffs are gonna have to go back on. They’re too tight.

Overall though I think I’m happy? I undid 40 stitches at the top seam, to loosen up the neckline. Between that and a super stretchy bind off done on needles two sizes up, it now sits more like the cowl I was hoping for.

I forged my own path with the number of stitches to use as the bottom hem (as opposed to the number to join and form a side seam) and it’s a really comfortable fit. I held the yarn triple and didn’t go down a needle size for the ribbing, and I like the chunk of it contrasting with the light fabric of the body.

I will pick up an extra six or eight stitches on those cuffs then do eight or nine inches of ribbing, instead of the six in the pattern. I’m finding it sits better with the cuff starting higher on my arm. I’ll hold triple and stick to the 4mm needles so that all the ribbing matches.

And then maybe I’ll take a pic that isn’t terrible!

I’ve added this post to the Unraveled Wednesday linkup, with thanks to Kat for hosting.

Ooo! I like the neckline adjustment you made very much! It looks great (and I think your idea of longer cuffs will be perfect!)

Thanks! This has been a bit of a struggle to stay motivated on, but I’m getting quite close to it being done… sort of, those nine inch cuffs will take a minute to knit ๐Ÿ˜

The neckline looks great. Sweaters are sometimes a gamble, at least for me, as to fit so congratulations on making this one fit the way you want. Longer cuffs will be just the thing. Knit on.

Thank you Jane! I’ve had a bad run of sweater luck and hope that I can turn that around ๐Ÿ˜
