These aren’t really zentangles, at least not as taught on zentangle.com. But they’ve been serving the same purpose – a piece of art that gets me into the zone, helps me relax, and makes me feel proud of my accomplishment at the end. I did all of these on Thursday and Friday. They take 30 – 90 minutes each, at a guess (the whole ‘in the zone’ thing makes it hard to judge).

I took inspiration and guidance from Kerry Doodles‘ videos (Instagram link). I love how they look – you just draw a bunch of lines and the next thing you know you’ve got awesome, contemporary art!

very nice linework. Some of the pieces have a 3-D look going for them.

Thank you! I’m hoping I can work up to proper 3D illusions, I’ve always thought that was so cool.

I think I’m only just learning that the less you’re tied to a perfect outcome, the more restful it is. Seems obvious!

Zentangle-like doodling is the best! I do those too, and mandalas sometimes. (I write about them in my other blog.) They are so meditative; such stress-busters!!

Love all of your doodles. The extra coloring has added that little something to them too. Nice!

I’ve been reflecting that I can absolutely think and knit at the same time – not always a good thing! But these doodles hold my focus completely, it feels so good.

Yes I think I selection in a frame will be nice – or alternatively used as greetings cards?
