Prequel | Part One | Part Two | Part Three | Part Four

We made it! I finished casting off, then soaked and blocked last night after working on it off and on all day (including in the car when we went out to run errands).

I really like how the black wing tips look – and I got to finally make the large size as written! I made amendments in the last two versions and really wanted to see just how huge the full pattern was.
The first Wingspan I made needed just over six blocking boards at its widest. The second needed eight. This version needed a full ten! Look at the difference in size between the first and last.

This will keep my mum nice and cosy, whether as a shawl or a lap blanket. I really hope she loves it.

If this is the first of these posts you’ve read, this is Wingspan (Ravelry link) by VectorKnits (Designerโs site). Iโm knitting it in Scheepjes Whirl (Scheepjes website) in Blackcurrant Squeeze Me. It took me four weeks and two days of knitting to complete.
