Part One | Part Two

I gave Flowers in the Air a light steam (which I define as ‘don’t press the steamer against the fabric, just hold it close and skoosh’) and the end result is fabulous.

After light steaming

Once again I’m mesmerised by my own knitting. The fine, airy, floaty finish is a delight. It seems to weigh practically nothing. And the flowers! Now that you can see them better, the little beads glitter away and their different colours shine.

It’s still smaller than the pattern suggests, at 58 inches wide and 18 inches deep… but it’s great just as it is. I’m so pleased.

The pattern is Flowers in the Air (Ravelry link) by Sachiko Uemura. The yarn is Malabrigo Lace (Wool Warehouse link) in Cypress.

Turned out really pretty. (Not sure why but WordPress isn’t allowing me to like. At least I can comment.)

Your shawl is gorgeous! The light steaming really did open it up. The lace and the beads are beautiful together!

Thank you! I am very pleased with it and it’s nice to have a different neckwear option for this freezing weather.
