I finished it in time! I didn’t think I’d get there. I made a mistake on the first body row, and had to undo lots of work to get back to it. And then there were the ends!

I tried out a different method and tied knots in the ends till they felt secure before trimming them back. Only time will tell if they stay inside – and I’ll hopefully never know as I’m hoping to send him off to a new home tonight at the craft fair.

I really do rate this pattern. Its a fairly quick make – about two weeks for me – and the end results are just so adorable. Making it with cotton yarn and a tiny hook was challenging – the splittiness did get to me at times, but as cotton goes this is nice enough to work with.

I didn’t have time to make up any stitch markers but then again, maybe I can set up a little workstation at the table. I did make up loads of necklaces from pendants I’d either been given or made. Most of the makes are resin with acrylic paint but there are some full resin, and one concrete with resin. Plus I have all my brooches. So plenty for folk to look at anyway!

Darren isn’t sure what to make of the temporary housemate.

As a reminder, this is Octavius the African Flower Octopus (Ravelry link) by LineandLoops (Etsy link).

Well that’s the joy of yarn arts, you can almost always fix the thing (or at least start over!)
